Five-Year Strategic Plan
As part of its mission to lead the advancement of excellence and innovation in emergency nursing, ENA is guided by its 2025-2030 Strategic Plan to achieve its vision of a world where every emergency nurse is fully supported to provide the highest quality of patient care. The ENA Board of Directors updated and approved the plan in September 2024 with the following strategic areas of focus:

Annual Report
As a community of nearly 50,000 members who light the way, ENA worked to fuel the passion and energy of emergency nurses in 2024 through education, advocacy, research, support for healthy work environments and fostering connections among nurses from around the world. ENA and its members committed themselves in those ways for the patients they care for and also for one another – the new nurses in need of mentors, the experienced nurses taking another step to advance their careers, the struggling nurses making time for their own health and well-being.
In these, and so many other ways, 2024 was truly a year to shine for ENA.
Academy of Emergency Nursing
Since 2004, the Academy of Emergency Nursing has honored more than 200 emergency nurses who have made enduring and substantial contributions to emergency nursing.
Academy inductees, known as Fellows, have advanced the specialty of emergency nursing and the health care system in which emergency nurses extensively contribute to patient care. This prestigious group also provides visionary leadership to ENA and the Academy.
ENA Awards
ENA proudly bestows a variety of prestigious annual awards to emergency nurses and emergency departments. These awards exemplify excellence in emergency nursing practice; leadership at the chapter, council and global levels; and in emergency department operations.
