SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (March 25, 2024) – Through the 20 Under 40 program, the Emergency Nurses Association and its member magazine, ENA Connection, cast the spotlight on emergency nursing professionals who are enhancing their careers, uplifting their communities and transforming the emergency nursing specialty.

Beginning Monday, ENA is on the lookout for the best of the best in emergency nursing with the opening of applications for its fourth annual 20 Under 40 recognition program. The 2023 class included educators, flight nurses, researchers, volunteers and advocates who consistently go the extra mile – and 2024 promises to celebrate a new class of up-and-coming ED nursing professionals.

“ENA is filled with young nurses who are deserving of this honor. That speaks highly of not just our membership, but all emergency nurses,” said ENA President Chris Dellinger, MBA, BSN, RN, FAEN. “I’m excited to see the slate of nominees for 2024 and what they are doing to advance emergency nursing.”

Emergency nurses under the age of 40, as of January 1, are encouraged to apply for this prestigious honor. Those selected by a panel of reviewers – comprised of ENA members and staff – will be featured in a special issue of ENA Connection in its October issue. Each honoree will also be recognized at Emergency Nursing 2024 in Las Vegas and highlighted on ENA social media.

ENA is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment for all members, regardless of background or identity. The association encourages members of underrepresented or historically marginalized populations to apply for the 20 Under 40 honor to represent ENA’s diverse membership.

For those interested in applying or nominating a peer, applications will be accepted until April 29. Learn more here.
