ENA Updates ESI Pediatric Triage Course

ENA redesigns pediatric triage learning platform for improved learner outcomes
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (May 4, 2020) – On Monday, the Emergency Nurses Association announced it has relaunched the Emergency Severity Index Pediatric triage course with a more engaging, interactive format that will improve learner outcomes.
The release of an enhanced Pediatric course comes after ENA relaunched its Emergency Severity Index Adult/Pediatric course in February. As the leading triage resource, ESI is relied upon by nearly every emergency nurse in the United States. Since its acquisition of the five-level triage system in 2019, ENA has focused on improving the triage learning platform to help emergency nurses better understand ESI and better identify patients who should be seen first, while prioritizing the care of patients with less urgent conditions.
As part of its vision for ESI’s future, ENA has partnered with Mednition to integrate clinical data science and machine-learning into the process of evolving ESI with the goal of enhancing nurses’ triage decision-making ability based on real-time information.
