Committed to Care slogan accompanies ENA’s first new logo and branding since 1993
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (Oct. 15, 2018) – With an updated design and a modernized use of its most identifiable color, the new Emergency Nurses Association logo and branding revealed on Monday further emphasize the organization’s strong connection and commitment to emergency nurses.
Developed with the considerable input from members and designed by Geneva, Illinois-based Rule 29, the new logo prominently displays the letter “N” to highlight nurses, while the letter “A” is positioned to show the association’s support of nurses on one side, while also moving toward the future on the other side.
And, to the approval of ENA members, the color purple – with a richer, deeper, modern twist – remains a key aspect in the new logo’s base design.
“Just like emergency nurses, the logo is bold and strong,” ENA Executive Director Nancy MacRae said.
A new tagline – Committed to Care – provides a versatile companion to the logo. The carefully crafted phrase applies, first and foremost, to emergency nurses who are passionate and committed to their profession. The words also convey ENA and the ENA Foundation’s commitment to its members.
The new logo becomes the fifth in ENA’s 48-year history. Each update throughout the years conveyed a sense for where the association and the profession were at during that given time period in the 1970s, ‘80s and ‘90s. The same is true with this 21st century iteration, according to ENA President Jeff Solheim, MSN, RN, CEN, TCRN, CFRN, FAEN, FAAN.
“The new branding shows the association’s evolution and adaptation to the digital age, the modern world of health care and the increased prominence of the emergency nurse,” he said.
The brand unveiling marks the association’s second major milestone in recent months. In August, ENA moved into its sleek and contemporary new headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois.
“It’s an exciting time for the association and the work we do to support our members,” Solheim explained. “I think the new building and the new brand are strong ways to show we are looking to the future.”
