Endowments

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO “ENDOW” A FUND WITH THE ENA FOUNDATION?

Endowment funds help secure the ongoing future of the ENA Foundation by providing continual support. Endowment gifts are retained in perpetuity and cannot be spent. The investment earnings from the endowed funds provide annual awards to recipients. The amount awarded each year is dependent on the ENA Foundation’s spending policy, which is developed to provide a predictable stream of funding. While each endowed fund is accounted for separately, each fund’s balance is pooled with other ENA Foundation endowment funds, increasing its potential for investment return while further strengthening its earning potential.

HOW CAN I SET UP AN ENDOWED FUND WITH THE ENA FOUNDATION?

Endowed funds may be initiated with a gift of any amount and a signed agreement to fully fund the endowment within five years. Endowments are frequently funded by cash gifts, but they may also be funded by transfers of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate or, other types of property.
