Alex Kasmere, BSN, RN, CPEN, TCRN, EMTP is the 2025 Emerging Professional Liaison to the Emergency Nurses Association Board of Directors, serving in a non-voting role.
Raised in Lake Worth, Florida, Kasmere began his health care journey as a paramedic before earning his associate degree in nursing from Palm Beach State College while working in a community emergency department. He is the nurse manager for the Pediatric Emergency Department at UVA Health Children’s Hospital.
Kasmere later completed his BSN at Chamberlain University. In 2025, he is expected to earn his MSN, specializing in Nursing Executive Leadership, from Chamberlain University.
Kasmere began his ENA journey as a new graduate nurse in the pediatric emergency department in Greenville, South Carolina. Driven by a commitment to professional development, he attended his first ENA annual conference in 2022 and quickly engaged in local leadership roles. He has actively contributed to various South Carolina ENA State Council committees and held positions such as Foothills Chapter president and South Carolina ENA State Council president-elect before relocating to Virginia.
As he joins the ENA Board of Directors, Kasmere is passionate about advocating for nurses in the early stages of their careers and is dedicated to advancing the nursing profession. He is honored to represent emerging professionals and is committed to fostering growth within the emergency nursing workforce. Kasmere aims to support, mentor and inspire his peers as they lay the groundwork for their careers.
