2006 ENA National Scorecard on State Highway Laws Makes Inroads
Following the November 16, 2006, release of ENA’s scorecard, the first ENA effort of its kind, the news resonated in the media both locally and nationally. Television, radio and print publications across the country ran stories on the injury prevention study and its call to action. There have been 34 million audience impressions to date. Still Time to Make Your Charitable Contribution Online
Support ENA scholarships and research with your 2006 charitable contribution to the Emergency Nurses Association Foundation. Simply, log on to www.ena.org/foundation/contribution/ and complete the process online. Many hospitals match their employees’ charitable contributions. Take advantage of your hospital’s matching gift program to increase the value of your monetary contribution. Ask your human resources or community relations manager for the matching gift form. Complete it and send it to the ENA Development Office. We’ll do the rest.

REMINDER: CECH Guidelines Revisions Take Effect January 1, 2007
Revised Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH) guidelines will be applied to all programs seeking CECH approval for 2007 beginning January 1, 2007. ENA will contact the activity coordinators individually for any 2007 programs received in 2006 to obtain the additional information required. Submissions received following January 1, 2007, using 6th Edition or earlier CECH Guidelines will be returned without review. All submissions must use 7th Edition CECH Guidelines. ENA Promotes AAN Guideline on Comatose Survivors
In November, the ENA Board of Directors approved the dissemination of a new guideline developed by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN). Certain tests can predict with great accuracy whether a person in a coma after CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) will have a poor outcome, according to AAN.
