FARS 2006 Traffic Fatality Projections
On May 25, 2007, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Mary E. Peters announced that traffic deaths on U.S. roads were down slightly in 2006 according to preliminary figures. “Drunk Driving. Over the Limit, Under Arrest.” - National Impaired Driving Crackdown during Labor Day Holiday
Again this year, National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) is coordinating a National Impaired Driving High Visibility Enforcement Crackdown during the Labor Day holiday. The Crackdown will run from August 17 through September 3. In support of the Crackdown, NHTSA has posted a Law Enforcement Action Kit (LEAK), which includes a law enforcement roll call video and identifies the types of law enforcement activities that can be conducted during the Crackdown by agencies of any size.
