TOPIC #7:

Thelma Kuska presented the National Highway and Traffic Safety Association’s (NHTSA) initiative, Click It or Ticket, to the ENA Board. Click It or Ticket is a high profile seat belt and child safety seat campaign in which drivers can be ticketed if they are not wearing their seat belt or children are not properly restrained. This year, there will be an unprecedented level of law enforcement activity across the country. With thousands of law enforcement agencies mobilized to actively enforce seat belt and child passenger safety laws, there will be high visibility enforcement, supported by radio and television advertisements to alert the public about the enforcement efforts.

Ms. Kuska requested that ENA sign the proclamation for Click It or Ticket and to place the proclamation on ENA’s website.

MOTION:
That ENA support the proclamation for Click It or Ticket It.

       AMENDMENT:
      That ENA issue a press release twice a year.

      DEFEATED (unanimously)

      AMENDMENT:
      That ENA place press releases in the appropriate venues.

      APPROVED (unanimously)

MOTION AS AMENDED:
That ENA support the proclamation for Click It or Ticket It and that ENA place press releases in the appropriate venues.

The Board also directed that the ENA logo be placed on the proclamation.
