PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
In 2003, the emergency department at Memorial Regional Hospital was operating with a 20% RN vacancy rate and 20% per diem/agency staff. Staff frustration was high and inefficient processes contributed to long throughput times, a high number of patients leaving prior to completed treatment, and poor patient satisfaction. Under new leadership and a series of initiatives, improvements were seen that far exceeded the initial expectations. This one-hour Web seminar will discuss patient flow processes to improve quality and promote patient safety, as well as strategies to improve patient satisfaction.

For best results, a high-speed internet connection is recommended. Telephone access is also required. On the day of the event, sign on should be no sooner than five minutes before the event.
