Memo
To: Instructor Course Course Directors
From: Donna Massey Education Officer
Date: August 4, 2004
Re: Psychomotor skill station videotaped practice

The following information was inadvertently omitted from the Instructor Course section of the Instructor’s Supplement and your ENPC Course Paperwork CD.

Please file this memo along with the evaluation form for the Management of the Ill or Injured Pediatric Patient videotaped practice exercise following page 412 in your Instructor’s Supplement. Please review the information below in addition to the material provided in your Instructor’s Supplement. CLICK HERE to access the evaluation form.

Key Points

  • You will use the same scenario for both of the practice exercises; therefore, each instructor candidate will need two (2) copies of the evaluation form.
  • Following the first scenario, each instructor candidate should complete the evaluation form, including adding up the points and marking the demonstrated/not demonstrated sections.
    1. In the first scenario the student passes the station because they have completed 36 of 43 possible steps AND completed all the ** critical steps in order.
    2. The steps that the student missed are identified on the videotape following the pause.
  • Following the second scenario, each instructor candidate should complete another evaluation form, including adding up the points and marking the demonstrated/not demonstrated sections.
    1. In the second scenario the student does NOT pass the station even though they completed 35 of 43 possible steps, because the student did not identify two double-starred (**) items (#13 and #18).
    2. The steps that the student missed are identified on the videotape following the pause.
