NEWLY REVISED COURSE ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES NOW ON THE WEB

The Course Administrative Faculty has recently produced and published a revision of the Course Administrative Procedures. These are posted on the TNCC and ENPC pages of the ENA Web site directly above the current Administrative Procedures. Also available is a summary of the Changes and Clarifications. The new Administrative Procedures are effective October 1, 2007. They are currently being previewed at the National TNCC Rollout Sessions. Contact Maureen Howard at mhoward@ena.org if you have any questions or concerns by August 15th so that she can forward the questions to the Course Administration Faculty for their response. The link below will take you to the new Administrative Procedures.www.ena.org/catn_enpc_tncc/tncc/

NEW OPTION AT INSTRUCTOR COURSES

The current requirement that prior to the beginning of an Instructor course, all attendees must reverify their Provider status remains the same in the new Administrative Procedures. However, the Administrative Procedures include a new option which is effective immediately.

Effective immediately, any participant who does not score high enough to participate in the Instructor course, but does score between 80 and 88%, may renew his/her provider status.

In order to achieve this, the Course Director must:
Include with the instructor course materials:

    1. a separate Provider summary performance report with that participant listed,
    2. the participant’s Course Evaluation/Multiple-choice Examination answer sheet, and
    3. payment for the $60 provider course indirect fee

ENA Course Operations will automatically assign a new Provider course number upon receipt of the performance report and payment. ENA Course Operations will send the provider card directly to the participant.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISCLOSURE FORMS

Conflict of interest disclosure forms must be obtained from all course directors, instructors, and instructor candidates to identify and resolve any potentially conflicting relationships of a financial, professional, or personal nature. Each course director must retain these signed disclosure forms on file with the actual course materials. The disclosure forms do not need to be submitted to ENA.

A template Conflict of Interest Disclosure form is on the TNCC, ENPC, and CATN pages of the ENA Web site and has been incorporated into the newly revised Course Administrative Procedures. Below is a link to the TNCC page for your convenience. www.ena.org/catn_enpc_tncc/tncc/

USE OF SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS

Many of you have expressed difficulty in obtaining social security numbers from course participants. If you find this to be an issue, please encourage participants to list the last four (4) digits of their social security number as a unique identifier to ensure credit goes to the right person.

Your Input is Welcome

Topic ideas for future issues and feedback are welcome at CourseBytes@ena.org. If you know of anyone who should be receiving this email but is not, please ask them to email us at CourseBytes@ena.org with their name, current home address and home and work email addresses.
